Contacts

I got my eyes checked today, and the results weren’t too bad. My prescription had changed slightly, but nothing serious. She also told me that I was a candidate for contacts. So I’m wearing my first pair. They said that getting them out was the hard part. I call bullshit. Getting them was the hard… Continue reading Contacts

Eye Exam

I’m scheduled to have my eyes checked tomorrow at noon. I haven’t had my eyes checked in about 18 months. Last time, my prescription changed quite a bit, and I’m due for a new pair of glasses. Lets see how this goes. If possible, I’d like to see about contacts, too.

Home for Christmas

I just booked my rental car to go home for Christmas. Actually, I booked an SUV. It ended up being the same price as a compact car. You’ve got to love Priceline.

Bonus Time

I just got my profit sharing and bonus check. I knew what the profit sharing would be. Everybody gets the same amount. But then each director is given a discretionary fund. My boss was good to me this year. The federal government made out like a bandid on my bonus check. That’s for sure.

Duncan and Bonnie

Yesterday, I was walking through Boston’s South End when I saw a guy with two Pugs. One was fawn and the other black. As any of my coworkers can tell you, the world comes to a stop when I see someone walking a pug (let alone two). I asked the guy about his Pugs.  Bonnie,… Continue reading Duncan and Bonnie

Meeting Ina Garten

I spent over two hours in line to get my copies of Ina Garten‘s Barefoot Contessa at Home Cookbook signed. The line snaked the whole way through a very large Crate and Barrel store.  Wanna know something? It was worth every single minute. While she was signing my two copies, I got to speak briefly… Continue reading Meeting Ina Garten

Ina’s book signing

I’m in a very long line at the Crate and Barrel store in Boston. The line is astronomically long. I just spent $75 for two copies of her book to be signed. I totally underestimated how many people would be here for this. Who knew she would have so many fans in Boston. This is… Continue reading Ina’s book signing

Edgar

I’m going to burn some karma points here… When we were younger, my sister had this teddy bear named Edgar. Edgar was small and plush. My sister was quite fond of him. Being the evil big brother I was am, if I wanted to make my sister cry, all I had to do was give… Continue reading Edgar

Origins of Purple

When I was home for Thanksgiving, I got to see my cousin Lori. I hadn’t seen Lori in several years. It had been even longer since I’d seen any of her kids. The last time I saw Ben, he couldn’t have been more then ten. He’s about to turn eighteen. Ben’s a good kid, wicked… Continue reading Origins of Purple
