Bad Dog Walkers

I was out walking Reggie and Buddy tonight when I encountered something that irks me to no end, and that’s people walking their dogs without a leash when they don’t have them well-trained.

Reggie never goes beyond the driveway without a leash. When I have Buddy, he doesn’t even get out the door without a leash because he likes to play “keep away.” Reggie is pretty docile around other dogs, but Buddy can appear to be a little aggressive, even if he’s playing. If you don’t have your dog on a leash and it comes running up to mine, I can only do so much to keep our two dogs apart. If your dog were on a leash, separating them would be a no-brainer.  Now Kayla, the three-legged shepherd/rottie mix who lives upstairs can be excused from this in my opinion, simply because she can’t hobble that fast toward other dogs.

So people of East Boston, please, keep your dog on a leash when you’re out walking. And while I’m begging, please pick up your dog’s poop. It makes all of us dog owners look bad.
