My grandmother makes the most amazing chocolate cake from scratch. This is her recipe. I have it written on a piece of paper but I wanted to have it somewhere else in case the paper got destroyed.
1 3/4 cup flour
2 cups sugar
1 tsp baking powder
2 tsp baking soda
2 tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup buttermilk or sour milk
1/2 cup oil
2 eggs
1 cub strong coffee
Combine dry ingredients. Add egg, coffee, buttermilk, oil, and vanilla. Beat until blended. Batter will be thin. Pour in greased and floured pan. bake at 350 for 35-40 minutes.
