I’m working from home today. Reggie had a grooming appointment, and I’m buried in documentation that needs to be written before I’m out for a week.
I’m sitting at the island table in the kitchen and Reggie is lying down on the big red rug on the floor. I don’t dare get up, or he’ll move and stop being cute.
My house smells amazing right now. Since my parents are coming and I won’t be able to do much cooking, I’d like to have as much food cooked in advance as I can. The chicken has been roasted off so that I can make the gravy for chicken and biscuits later. The tomatoes and onions are roasting now to make some roasted tomato soup. And later, I’ll start on a big batch of chili.
The cooking is secondary. I still have work work to do, too.
