Super Tuesday

Today was a long day, especially when you consider that I was up at 4:30 AM for no particularly good reason.

Since I got to work rediculously early, it looked like I was the first one into the office. I went to get my wallet to find my alarm card only to realize my wallet was at home. That meant another 20 minutes in the car to get my wallet. I’d need it later in the day for my insurance card and T pass anyway.

At our staff meeting, I unintentionally pissed off one of our developers for dissing open source software. I forgot how protective these guys are about their development platforms. We’ll work it out in a few days.

At lunch time, I got to meet our new CIO. At least now we know who he is, and he seems like a nice guy. We’ll see how things go with him. I do like that he wants to sit down and talk to the senior staff one-on-one.

After that, I went to the hospital to have the ultrasound of my kidneys. The radiologist said they looked good and that the concerns they had before didn’t seem to be an issue. This is good. Now I meet with my primary care doctor next Thursday to talk about extricating my gallbladder.

After work, I went to vote. It seems that the city lost my voter registration. That means I had to use a “provisional” ballot. Senator McCain seems to have lost here, anyway, so it’s not that big of a deal. I was hoping that this would be one time my vote would actually mean something in this state. You know that any Republican is going to get their ass kicked in Massachusetts in November.

Tonight, I’ve been pretty much glued to the TV watching election results. Well, that and reading my new book.

Sleep is calling…
