Car Payment

I made my first car payment this morning on the new Civic.  This makes me sad because it means my car is no longer new.

Downer of a Day

Ever have one of those days when you just didn’t want to be at work? Today would be that day.  I did my Rebif injection late last night, and that means I woke up feeling all icky. If I take it earlier in the evening, the worst of it passes before I get out of… Continue reading Downer of a Day

Dubai Group

I had the most bizarre dream last night. I was interviewing with a company called the Dubai Group. Don’t ask me why. I’ve never heard of them, but apparently, there is actually a company named that.  The interview was very strange. I was met by a person who gave me a phone for a phone… Continue reading Dubai Group

A good day for planes

My friend Steve lives in London and is an aviation geek like me. Today was a great day since the planes were taking off over my house and skies were crystal clear. I sent him this message: I was just thinking about you. A British Airways 747-400 just took off over my house with crystal… Continue reading A good day for planes

Cold Wet Weekend

It’s supposed to be cold and wet all weekend. That means it’s going to be a comfort food-making weekend. Chicken stew is certainly on the menu. I think some homemade mac and cheese will be, too. And if I’m feeling ambitious, I’ll make Ina’s Chicken and Dumplings.

Disputes

In the past several months, I’ve become quite obsessive about my finances. I check my credit card balances, bank balances, and my credit scores religiously.  When I went on vacation, I did all of my hotel rooms in advance. The San Francisco Hilton was done via Priceline, and the Portland Inn at the Convention Center… Continue reading Disputes

Sparkling Shiraz

Yesterday on the way home from the dentist, I stopped by Best Cellars to pick up a bottle of sparkling wine. They have a great Jumping Jolanda prosecco that I really like. I got a bottle of that and also picked up a bottle of a sparkling Shiraz while I was there. I’ve never had… Continue reading Sparkling Shiraz

Dentist

I have a chip in a tooth. It’s sharp, and it hurts. He’s going to fix that. They took the x-ray for my implant, and that’s looking good. The bone is growing around the implant and we can do the crown in another there months. I want it sooner but the endontist says we need… Continue reading Dentist
