I had to work a little late tonight to upgrade a system. On my way out of the office, I was running to catch the bus when my knee popped. It hurt like hell, but I somehow managed to catch my bus. As I was wallowing in my self pity on the bus, it came to a sudden halt. We weren’t stopped at a regular stop, though. We had stopped right in an intersection. When I looked out the window, I saw why we had stopped. There was a minivan in the street and a body lying on the roadway, obviously having been hit by said minivan. The bus driver called for help. There wasn’t much I could do, and I figured we’d be there for a while, so I buttoned up and started walking for the closest subway station.
Suddenly, my knee didn’t hurt so much.
