Interviews

This weekend was absolute chaos. I went to Boston for two interviews on Friday. Here is the skinny:

The first one was with the consulting company, and not the client. These people really screen their candidates before submitting them to the client. But here is the key: they are the only company submitting people, and they only submit one candidate. In this case, it’s me. They wanted to make sure I’m a perfect match before submitting me to the client. Long story short, if they tell the client I’m the right candidate, the client is probably going to hire me. Word as of 5:00 is that the client wants to speak to me on Monday via phone and will probably make the decision before Wednesday. There is an off chance I’ll have to come back to meet with the client right after Thanksgiving, but I doubt that will happen. What I like about this company is that they have an amazing benefits package. The pay is a little lower, but it more than compensates for the pay. Eaton Vance, the client, has been listed as one of Boston’s top employers for several years now.

The second job is a little harder to read. I’m an absolute perfect fit for the job. But the manager interviewing me was a total stone face. I couldn’t tell if he liked me or not. This is certainly a guy I wouldn’t want to play poker with. This job would be in the Prudential Tower in Boston, which would be pretty cool. The company is Boston Properties, who owns the Prudential Tower.
